on saturday we had the girls' birthday party. and this year the theme was
PINKALICIOUS!!!
here is your warning...there are a LOT of pictures...sorry!
it is one of the girls' favorite book, so i thought it would be fun to do it as their birthday party! it was a lot of fun...and a lot of PINK!!!!
the invites were made by lelan at good gravy! check her out!
love them! (this scan is bad...the pink was on the bottom too!)
i had been collecting pink stuff for months for the party! but, there was still a lot of last minute details that i worked on late on friday night! and because of the rainy weather, i cut out a few things as well...like decorations outside!
in the morning we gave them our gifts...
the bows are made from fabric...i just ripped scraps and tied together...a little bit of a messy look, but i liked them!
i think she just figured out she was getting a bitty twin...the doll with hair! she was so excited!
action shot...she was moving too fast for me to get any good pictures!
k loving her new doll!
mara really loved her new doll too...she even named her right away...we now have a molly in the house!
and later in the day we had their party. here are some of the details from the party...
the cakes...were the BEST, as always. my friend beth made them for the girls!
and she always makes the girls little cakes. i found the smaller cupcake pan last week and i knew it would be perfect for their little cupcakes!
i made the tissue paper pom poms...so easy and todd helped too! you can find the step-by-step here...have to love martha!
for lunch we had a lot of pink & green food...
the green food table:
-grapes
-green olives
-pickles
-broccoli
-cucumbers
-ranch dip that i made green with food coloring...so easy!
and the pink food...i totally forgot to get a picture of it all, but the BEST pink food we had was
the PINK buns!!!
they were pink and so good! i had them made at the local bakery up the street from us...it was no problem to order pink buns! love it! i can't wait to order more colored buns for something!
the rest of the pink food was strawberries, cherries and mini pink waffle cookies.
after lunch the kiddos decorated cupcakes...
and they took them home in take out boxes! stickers are from good gravy!
a few more party details...
cupcake stand...cupcake toppers from good gravy!
the birthday girl chairs!
and the name cards for the kiddos!
time for cake!
blowing out candles!
are you with me still???
it was a great day, even if the skies were gray and it was raining...the girls had a blast!
and i can't believe they are
3!!!!

I adore that cupcake cake! How nutty would that be for a grown woman to have that, on say, her 44th birthday?
