two little tots...how it all started!

no major shop updates for today.  i am sewing, working on a few custom orders, that i will have pictures of soon!

but, since this week is all about k&m around here, i thought i would share with you how Two Little Tots all started!

how did i come up with the name?
the name...it was born, because of these 2 little girls...
i made a list of all shop names that i liked...the ones i loved at the time were taken.  but, then when we were on vacation last year, the name came to me...it just fit!  i have two little tots, so why not have a shop called that too!

why i started two little tots?
i started the shop after i had been home for almost a year with the girls.  before the girls came i was 100% a corporate girl, working at target hq for 10 years!  i loved my job, but when the girls came, my heart was just not in my job anymore, but at home.  after almost a full year at home, i need more then just cleaning, reading books, singing songs, going to the play ground, etc.  don't get my wrong, i LOVE staying at home, but i needed more...something that was all mine!  i have always been creative, so i thought why not try to sell my creative stuff that i make.  and it has been a lot of fun!

now, i feel like i have the best of both worlds...i get to stay at home, enjoy the girls and do something fun for me.  sewing has been a huge outlet for me this past year.  i sew when i am stressed in life, i sew for some quite time, i sew to be relaxed...that sounds funny, but sewing is very relaxing to me...not always, but most of the time i can just get into sewing and hours will go by.  and i love shopping for fabric, that is so much fun!

more is coming...some fun post about the girls.  last year i did a post a day about them, this year it is not working out that way, but life is busy...this is the stage we are at...busy, busy, busy!

enjoy your wednesday!

  2. It is theraputic for me. The stress of everyday with the kids (there are lots of good times, too, but 5 is a lot to handle sometimes) the sewing and mostly the cutting the patterns out of the fabrics is sooo relaxing and you are right hours can pass:)
Cute picture of those girls of yours:)
