Friday Fun! Pre-K Chrismas Concert

How can Christmas be in 2 little days?
I can't believe it and I am a little behind as well...not sure how that happened this year!

Last week the girls had their Christmas Concert at school and it was so cute to watch those  little 3 and 4 year old kiddos sing their heart out!  The 3-year olds look so little compare to the 4-year olds, I could not believe it!

Here a few pictures to recap the night!
We could see and hear K the whole concert...she LOVES to sing
and right now is obsessed  with Christmas music!
Mara was tucked behind some kids, so we could not see her at all.  Towards the end of the concert she was trying to peak out...she just needs to grow!
Best Buddies...and in typically 4-year old picture taking style...one not looking, the other with a big cheesey smile!

Now this elf has to finish getting ready for Christmas!
Happy Friday!

Fun Friday = My Hair!

I am not so sure if my hair should equal 'Fun Friday', but I figured it was better then nothing!
For pictures, it actually was not that bad, but I just had it cut 2 weeks before them.  After about a month, it is driving me nuts again and all I want to do is cut it off!
I have been having major hair issues for the last year I feel like.
I have wanted something new, because my hair has been the same for years, so I feel like I need a change.
So, I went on Wednesday morning out of the blue and got another haircut!
It was totally random and not something I typically do, but I took a chance.

She didn't change a lot, took a little off the length and added a lot more layers to make it lighter.  I have fine hair, but a lot of it.  So when it gets long, it takes forever to blow dry and is just so heavy!
Here is a picture of the back...she did a great job giving it some natural looking waves.
{Note: this picture was taken at about 10:15 at night.  It was a rainy day, so a lot of the wave was gone, but there was still a little}

I have some natural wave/curl to my hair, I just never wear it that way.  She did a great job teaching me how to style my hair, now lets hope I can do it that way.

I am still not sure if I want to go a little bit shorter or not!
I need to be able to pull it back...pony tails are a must for me!

What do you think, should I cut another 2 inches off or not?
Happy Weekend!

Fun Friday = Pop Up Shop with Wild Ruffle

I am SO happy to be apart of this fun event coming up in the Twin Cities area...

On Saturday, November 5th, I will be a vendor at the first ever Pop Up boutique event in Prior Lake, MN.  I am so excited about this new, fun and creative event, I can't wait!  The idea behind the Pop Up shop is a collection of handmade businesses to come together to sell their wonderful handmade goods.  Shoppers can come expecting to find unique one-of-a-kind items, including everything from shoes to handbags, home goods and much more.  Light refreshments and a ton of fun will also be on hand!

My friend Cate from Wildruffle.com has been working so hard on this event and I know it’s going to be amazing, because Cate is amazing, just amazing!

I personally want to invite you. I hope you can come!

Here’s the details so PLEASE click over to your calendar and mark the date!
 Happy Friday and Weekend too!

Friday Fun = Chicago!

I am finally posting about our family trip to Chicago!  I can't believe it was already a few weeks ago we were there.  This month is going way too fast, just like the summer did around here.

We had a great time visiting our great friends

We headed downtown Saturday morning on the train, which they LOVED riding!

to visit the...
The American Girl Store
Yes, it was packed and crazy
Yes, our dear husband came with...such great daddies!
Yes, I think we were crazy!
But, the girls LOVED it!
All of them picked out a new outfit for their dolls!
Note: dolls are not in new outfits!

We ate lunch at an awesome Italian Beef place...so, so good!
I love that you can get a horse ride in downtown Chicago...next time this will be on my list of things to do!
And we wore the girls out...

On Sunday we headed to Northwestern Campus
What a beautiful campus on the lake, it was so pretty!
And then to the beach later in the day...

And on Monday we walked to the lake for a family photo...of course!
Then headed home...the long 7 hour drive in the car!
We made great time there and back...7 hours total driving with an 1 hours each way.
Thanks R family for letting us crash your place for a few days...we will be back soon!
Happy Friday!
Happy Weekend!

Brookeside!

What a week we had at Brookeside.  I am not sure how to describe it, because it is kind of like a little magically place up north in MN.  The resort is small and older, but has so much history.  It was so comfortable, relaxing, kid friendly and just felt home...away from home!
(all the kiddos)
My husband's family use to go to Brookeside every summer when he was a kid.  He has not been back from 19 years, so it was fun for him to go back and relive his childhood memories with the girls!  Not much has changed in 19 years...what has changed is for the better.  The cabins are not fancy, but clean and very well kept, the pool is not huge...but the kids swam every day for hours.  The best part about the resort is how kid friendly it is! Activities all day long for the kiddos and the parents get a little bit of kid free time, I LOVED that!

This year we started a new tradition and went with some great family friends for the week...everyone LOVED it!  We are going again next year...and I can't wait!   Some of Todd's family was up there too, which was a lot of fun to hang out with them and make some new Brookside memories!
 (W Family)

Warning...there is a lot of pictures...but here is a recap of our week:

Swimming with daddies:
Enjoying the lake activities:
BINGO night!
Captain BINGO comes for a visit!
and saves the BINGO night from some crazy noodle man!

We did a little sand castle building!
Finished...Huge fish castle!

And the kids enjoyed doing the Minnow Races!
K's almost made it to the finals.
But, Andrew took 3rd place!
I can't believe I cheer on a minnow, that was a first for me!
And Andrew's 3rd place race!

A lot of ping pong was played...by adults and kids during the week!
And then there was a loft slide!  It is the same loft slide when Todd was a kid!
All of the kids...got along so great!  It was so much fun to see them play together so well!
Glow sticks where a BIG hit one night!

The skiing bear!

And the beautiful sunsets!  Every night we enjoyed one of these!
Thanks Brookeside...we had an amazing week with friends and family1
We can't wait until next year!

Happy Weekend...long weekend!
We are off to Chicago for a little fun!

fun friday = farmgirl paints

Last week I had a fun play date...yes, I had a play date with a girlfriend and her girls!
It was a beautiful and hot day, but so much fun to hang out and enjoy our friendship.

Becky from Farmgirl Paints moved away...so sad!
She is one of the most creative people I know and has such a love for life and her family!
We are blogging friends and she is the one who did the custom painting of our house...
We meet for the first time last summer for lunch and it felt like we have been friends for years!

So we had a play date with our girls before she moved 20+ hours away
 Becky and her girls!
Me and my girls!
Let me tell ya...it was hard work paddling the paddle boat by myself and it didn't help that it was about 90 that day!  A lot of fun...and many laughs as I was slow!
A little shower for ya?  Love Becky's face!
Mommy duck and her babies...it was so cute how they were all tucked under her!
The girls!
Thanks Becky for a great afternoon in the park!
Miss you! Praying for you as you began this new chapter in life!
Happy Weekend!

fun friday= making memories

A few weeks ago one of my closest and longtime friend Suzanne came into town with her family.  We started at Target on the same day, in the same training class and were friends from the start.  We were in each other's weddings and have stayed close friends even though they live in Chicago and we are in the Twin Cities.

Now our children are becoming friends and it is so wonderful to see them play so well together, it melts my heart.  The girls miss Lily and so do I...and Suzanne!

Here are some fun pictures from their visit.  We made lots of memories and enjoyed spending a lot of time together and it was great...the girls played so well together I could not believe it...one day for 6 hours...no fighting, no meltdowns, it was wonderful!
We enjoyed a morning running around the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden...so many fun things to explore!
The famous Spoon with the Cherry on Top!

The girls enjoyed lots of craft projects at Ya-Ya's house!  Decorating cookies was one of them...yummy!
And all of the girls!
Thanks for a great visit filled with lots of memories!  We can't wait to make a road trip your way!
Happy Weekend everyone!
