life....update

we had a wonderful weekend in madison, but it was just long and i am still exhausted from the trip and the whole situation with my dad.

we saw him each day for a few hours, which was great...the girls did pretty well hanging out at a hospital, but it was a lot of new faces and places for them...so a little bit overwhelming.

i was able to talk to his doctor today on the phone, but could not get a lot of information, because it was a phone call and not person to person. i did let his doctor know of my concerns at this time...he cannot walk at all and his house is just not the place to be with a wheelchair. when he was at home this last time, he fell 2 times that i know of and could not get up on his own. there is a lot more about the situation that is not good, but those details are a lot, so for now, i am just working on making sure the next steps of treatment and care are going in the right direction.

a quick update on how he is doing...the cancer is getting bigger and it has spread to his stomach area as well now. it is a very rare cancer and not very common in the us. the chemo treatment is his getting has only been done 4 times and in Japan, never in the US. so the doctors are not really sure if it will work or not...if it does, he will have to have another 4 rounds of this chemo and could go into remission.

as i said we did have a great weekend seeing the rest of my family as well. the girls went out to see auntie gail's horse jellybean and they loved see the horses up close...it was so much fun.

here are a few pictures from the trip out to the farm:
