vacation recap: bahamas

in march of 2005 we went to the bahamas...and it was great.  the year before we were in mexico for our 2nd trip...and i get sick...so no more mexico for me!  we came back to sandal's and this was our second time back.

the bahamas...they are great, so much like the US, it was a little crazy for us...we were use to the island feel and it being very hot.  it  was still hot, but in the high 70's and we were used to our trips being in the mid to high 80's.  the only down side to this vacation...was the pool was not heated, so we never went in, it was just not hot even for me.
this resort is more like a hotel...bigger building...all indoors, so it had a little bit different feel then then mo bay, but it was still beautiful and a great vacation!

our room overlooked the pool and ocean...
and the view from our room...

us on the beach...

i loved these big chairs...i wanted to take one home!

one of the best things i love about sandal's is there are always a lot of pools...little one too, where you can find some quite time and relax!
the main gate...

the resort is always kept up very nice...

we always try to get our picture in the 'sandal's' hammocks too....

one day we headed into town...and went to the hard rock and headed over to atlantis...it is like a mini las vegas.  it was so big and the prices were crazy high!  i don't think i will ever take the girls there...the breakfast buffet was about $14.99 per child...crazy!  and i heard from a family on our flight home the line to get beach towels in the morning was over a half hour...that is just not right.  it was beautiful and i can see why people like it, but it was just not for me...happy i saw it!
the boat tour guide told us that Michael Jackson rented or owned the suite in the middle of the 2 towers...i wonder now who owns it!?

and no sandal's trip is not complete without a picture on the chess board!
and i loved the colors too...i matched the board!

tomorrow up is antigua...so come on back for another little vacation recap!
