of course i love art, i love to create things, i love to reinvent something i see and put my own personal touch it it, so i figured that maybe my girls would love art just as much...and they do!!!
so the tip today is
ART
we have been doing an art project a week around here...during the summer months it is easier, because we can have the mess outside...i LOVE that! a blog that i love whatever, meg has 5 kids i think and she is doing thursday art, so i thought i should give it a try. i just LOVE her blog, so much fun eye candy over there, so check her out!
i have been trying to get over the fact that i might spend a good half hour to 45 minutes coming up with a great art project, the supplies, setting it all up and then the girls really only want to do it for 10 minutes...really, come on, please do it for a half hour!!! but, i am learning what works well and what doesn't at this age!
so here are a few of the art projects we had done so far...and these have all been good for 3 year olds!
art project 1: tissue paper pictures
super easy...and the LOVED it!supplies needed:
-cardboard
-foil
-glue-water it down
-cut up pieces of tissue paper
-sponge paint brushes
what to do:
cover the cardboard with the foil
water down the glue, so they can spread it better
cover the foil with glue and then put the pieces of tissue paper over
put a final coat of glue over the whole thing
note: i found this on one of my daily blogs i read, but i don't remember where.
finally outcome:
kaylin's...she got a little glue happy at the end and took some of the tissue paper off!
mara's:
and mommy's...it seems they enjoy the 'art projects' more when i do one too!
art project 2: water color paints...SO easy!
the girls love to paint and watercolor paint is so easy! and walmart has them for 92 cents!
for this project i just traced their hands and feet and they went to work....it was quite for about a half hour and i worked on this...
a messy hair clips...so while they crafted, i could craft too!
and our last project we worked on was our summer list!
meg, at whatever make a list every summer with her kids.
so the girls and i made their list the other day...a little late, but i knew they were really not going to have a lot to add to the list at this age...
their lists:
i each had them make a list, because i am planning on putting it in their scrapbooks as a page.
and they painted the summer shapes on the pages...so that was the art project of the day!
if you have any great art projects for little ones, i would love to hear them. please share!
and hello
JULY!
My Jamison loves art...I might just have to pick up those water colors! I love your Summer To Do lists...looks like you all have a fun summer planned. We will be spending a lot of time at the Spray Park and at the playground.
