enjoying, relaxing and reflecting

i have been enjoying, relaxing and reflecting a lot this week.  after the crazy mess i had last week, i needed some time to just think and not worry about anything, but my family!

i am still dealing with the aftermath of the accident, but i am getting past the 'what ifs' and beating myself up over it.  it was a freak accident, that i wish didn't happen, but it did.  that is life, it can be messy and i just am thankful that we are all okay and the man i hit should recover from his broken bones just fine.

we had a great time in madison.  it was nice to get away and relax and see my family.  it was just what we needed!

here are some pictures to recap the weekend.

we headed down there for a baby shower, which was really nice.
the food...was so good and simple!

we just hung out all day on saturday, not doing much, but visiting with my grandparents...the girls had a lot of fun coloring with grandma june and i think she loved it too!

on sunday we headed downtown to the campus.  i have the best childhood memories of going to art class at the U of W-Madison, getting ice cream at the union, watching the sailboats on the lake and listening to music on the patio with my mom.  it was the best as a kid!

the union...the buildings on campus are so pretty and a lot of them are on the lake...so peacefully and relaxing!
the girls!

and i remember seeing these everywhere when i was a kid...all of the flyers, all of the colors, it was just funny to me, how things just don't change!

the daily scoop...as the BEST ice cream...they milk the cows just down the street and make it there!  yummy!

the girls got blue moon ice cream...tasted like fruit loops!  and how can this face not make you smile?!

and k is really into silly faces right now!

daddy and his girls...

family...nothing better!

the BIG chair...our cute faces...
and our silly faces!

hope you are having a great week.  i will be posting next week, just not daily!  it is our last week of summer here and i really want to enjoy it and the girls...they start school in 2 weeks!

have a great day!

  1. Your girls are changing SO fast...they look so much older in those pictures! It's like they lost their chubby cheeks and got cheek bones. Went from toddlers to girls.
Glad you are feeling better about the accident. Even just a fender bender causes shakiness for days...obviously that was much worse.
